
The following people attended the meeting: all 13 Executive Board members, Executive Director Stephan Hienzsch, and many USDF office staff members.
Fern Feldman made a motion, seconded by Kat Kyle, to establish a pool of clinicians to conduct the adult clinic series. The pool will consist of Kathy Connelly, Jan Ebeling, Lilo Fore, Lendon Gray, and Hilda Gurney. Motion carried.
George Williams made a motion, seconded by Alison Head, that USDF hold up to nine regional adult clinics in 2006, in addition to re-scheduling the 2005 Region 9 clinic that was cancelled due to the hurricanes - for a total of up to ten clinics in 2006. Motion carried.
Fern Feldman made a motion, seconded by Gaye McCabe, to adopt the theme "A Good Ride Every Day" for the 2006 adult clinic series. Motion carried. The clinic series had a theme when Walter Zettl conducted the clinics, and has not had a theme since then.
George Williams made a motion, seconded by Theresa Hunt, to adopt the following recommendations from the Adult Clinics Implementation Committee for the 2007 clinic series: (1) adopt the theme "Relevance of the dressage tests to every day riding and training;" (2) secure clinicians, locations, and dates before September 1, 2006; and (3) market the clinics well in advance. Motion carried.
Sandi Bishop made a motion, seconded by Kat Kyle, to contract Ingrid Klimke and Enne Grossmeyer to conduct the 2006 Symposium in Kansas City. Motion carried.
Sandi Bishop made a motion, seconded by Kat Kyle, that USDF should not hold a Symposium in 2007. Motion carried.
Kat Kyle made a motion, seconded by Linda Landers, to accept the proposal from the Instructor/Trainer Council for Recognized Teacher categories, effective April 1, 2006. Motion carried.
George Williams made a motion, seconded by Janine Malone, to approve the following components of the proposal from the "L" Faculty on freestyle education for judges and "L" candidates, effective January 1, 2007: (1) accept ten or more people into freestyle education programs, depending on facilities; (2) include a one-hour segment on freestyle education in the "C" session of the "L" program; (3) add an elective weekend of freestyle education to the "L" program; and (4) the "L" Faculty will develop a module for freestyle for inclusion in the "Continuing Education Program for Judges and "L" Graduates. Motion carried.
George Williams made a motion, seconded by Sue Hughes, to post public council/committee reports on the USDF website as soon as they are available before the annual convention. Motion carried. In this way, delegates could obtain feedback from the membership on items to be discussed during council/committee meetings at the convention.
Janine Malone made a motion, seconded by Gaye McCabe, to add Fern Feldman to the USDF Planning Committee. Motion carried.
